Brent & Annie

What a year it was starting with our first ever Winter AR. Dusty & I did some of the coursework for this race, put on by Krank Events, and Brent, Annie, Scarlett & Kellen took on the competition. The next race for Team Quest was Dusty and my first expedition race, GodZone Chapter 6 in Queenstown, NZ. We raced with some fellow ultra athlete inspirations- Gavin Woody & Richard Kresser. The months that followed were full of training adventures, Cascadia AR Series races, Krank Events weeknight races, and prep for our next big race, the ARWC- Cameco Cowboy Tough in Casper, WY. This was the 2nd expedition race for Dusty, Brent, and I and the first expedition race for Annie.

September had another big race for the team starting with the Bend 30hr- Scarlett & Mitch’s first 30hr race. San Juan Island Quest was also in September and our 1st place finish brought us within a few points of the Cascadia AR Series leaders, Bend Racing (aka Yogaslackers). We ended the year with a close 2nd place behind Bend Racing in the series. Another big event for Quest in September was celebrating the union of Quest Adventure Racing’s founder & team captain, Brent, to his fellow teammate and life partner, Annie.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for the much needed and well-loved gear, fuel, training guidance, and moral support.. Many thanks to our families, friends, and communities (mtn bikers, trail runners, paddlers, adventure racers, climbers) who trained with us, followed our dots day and night, raced alongside us, and sent us notes of encouragement along the way. We couldn’t have done it without all of you! We are looking forward to all that 2018 has in store for the team! You can check out our race schedule for details, keep an eye on our blog, Facebook & Instagram for updates as the year progresses.
